H’okay. What kind of sock do you want?

(Check out my contest.)

It seems as though people are pretty evenly split with the whole “what should I design for you as a series of tutorials” with a lot of people being intrigued by the quilt-inspired scarf.. and socks.

Now… If I’m going to do socks, that’s going to be a big, long process because at the same time, I’m going to include excel tutorials for those wanting to write their own sock patterns.  Yea.  I’m probably too ambitious.  But what can you do?

So… since the sock will be a series of posts… that may infact stretch a few weeks, I think I’ll do the scarf along the way (I think I too am intrigued by this idea).

But first…

I need to know what kind of socks you want me to design.

So… leave a comment…

Do you want: Colorwork?  Lace?  Or textural?  Let me know and I’ll do some swatching over the holiday.

I think you should design the kind of socks that go on your head. With argyles.

Wow, that is a really tough question! I love all socks! So I am not going to be of any help. Although if I HAD to make a choice I think I would choose texture first. Yes, I think texture is usually my first choice when looking for a new sock to make. Well, there is my 2cents worth. Have a great holiday!

I’d go with textural. I love the idea of you giving some tips on how to design socks too – thats what I am just trying to do!

I vote colorwork! I think that there are fewer colorwork patterns than textured patterns out there, although I love socks evenly.

I’d love some instruction on textural patterns also. I’m so impressed that you’re going to be this thorough. I’m looking forward to both the scarf project and the socks in the coming months.

    Texture! And lace!

Well, since I already can knit lacy and textural socks, I’d love a tutorial on colorwork socks@

Definately texture. Ya that’s the ticket. Have a great holiday and look forward to the tutorial!

I’m with chemgrrl. But I guess the masses have spoken so I’ll put my vote in for colorwork.

Colorwork – please! The web is full of textural patterns and tutorials. Colorwork has been very overlooked.

Textured or colourwork. I’ve done some lacy socks, but I’d like texture or colourwork so much better. 🙂

Textural please, but not cables. Cables scare me. They keep me up at night.

WoW! Texture has it by a mile. I am a tactile person so I also vote for texture. It would be nice if it had a more durable heel and sole. Thanks for being a brilliant designer:)

ok…if you aren’t going to do an argyle type hat, how about a new, unique, exciting take on the argyle sock? hmmmm?

    Textured or colourwork, please!
